Remembering 9/11

Identity Theft Is America's Fastest Growing Crime Today
I first learned about this new identity on my credit report because my mortgage company had a security breach and may of their customers, me being one of them, had their records stolen. So the mortgage company offered a one year free credit report to us.
Let me tell you, there's nothing that will grab your attention than "We're sorry, but your identity may have been stolen." So I start my membership with the credit reporting agency, and what did I see? Someone has been getting a free-ride on my credit history.
The credit agency personal was very helpful. They had been seeing more and more of this, and didn't expect it to slow down for some time, with all the identity theft reports in the news. People needing a fresh start, people just flat stealing other peoples personal identification just to help themselves to others credit history, and get free money.
I've seen so many opportunities where people could be a victim of identity theft, and knew that a simple, quick action reference guide with repeatable results would be a helpful ebook to add to their library. You don't want to have to remember where you saw it for sale "after the fact", you're just not in a clear thinking state of mind.

...and You Thought There Were No Blemishes On
Your Credit Report
Once I knew I had access to my credit report, I could then look into what was right or wrong. Just being able to look at my history, my score, let me know I wasn't helpless.
Knowledge is power, knowing you can get access to your own credit report is to your advantage. Knowing how to correct any errors only strengthens your position. And just like when I found errors on my credit report, you too can clean up yours.
Its easier to get things started now, than find out during a loan approval that you'll have to clean things up before they'll even talk to you again.
You don't want to go through the expense of Identity Theft lawyers, and a trial to prove you are who you say you are. I learned the best time to discover errors on my credit report is Before I need to depend on my credit history.
Ok, so now I've learned there's things in my credit report that are wrong, what do I do now. what information do I have to have to prove it wasn't me opening up those lines of credit, and how do I prove I didn't spend any of that money, and am I going to have to pay all that back?
I knew it wasn't me racking up bills on a line of credit under my name, but how do I convince those banks, those department stores that I don't have to pay it back. Just one purchase cleaned out my bank account, and now the bank has to be convinced I don't have those items at my house, and are they going to put that money back into my account? When? We didn't even get groceries yet, and the gas tank is empty.

My First Step
Now I at least have some idea of getting my credit back on track. My first step is to get a copy of my credit report. Which one do I call? I've heard that the same information isn't on all of them.
Different stores report to the credit agency of their choice. So getting one of those all-in-one reports may mean that one is current, and the others are just a copy, maybe even a month old, and I don't have time to look at old records. I want accurate data to know what to take action on first.
That's why after I had to fumble around on my own, getting phone numbers, addresses to write, (and you know having something in writing is required), that I started a list of which step is the most important to do first, what's next so I wouldn't have to back-track since time is an important factor.
Ever gone into one of those big malls, and seen a directory when you first walk in? And you see this big arrow that says, "You Are Here". Remember how helpful that was, you didn't have to guess which direction to go, which floor to get lost on. Just look for your end result, and go in that direction.
So I put together this simple to read ebook, starts you off at the big arrow that says, "You Are Here", tells you what step to take next, who to call, and even gives you the phone numbers. That's what my fast and simple ebook is about.
Getting Things Back In My Control
You know when you first learn you've been an identity theft victim, your head is spinning, you lose all sense of 'what do I type in the search engines to find what I need'. So I put them all in this quick reference ebook that you can start with step one and not get lost when you're not thinking as clear as you could be.
I found that some phone numbers are just recordings, and other got through to a human. Image that, a human! Sometimes it took pressing a few buttons, but even after that some services you still get a recording.
Reminds me of a movie I saw a few years ago, when someone called 9-1-1, they got a recording, telling them to leave their name and number. That's confidence for you.
Once I got a human, I found them to be helpful. They weren't the ones who stole my identity, they were there to help. They had to confirm I was who I said I was to help me the best, but after that, I felt a whole lot more confident I was on my way to cleaning up my credit report.
I learned first hand that with the right connections, you can clean up errors, and even fraud on your credit report, and be prepared for future cleanups without feeling helpless.
It's also good to keep a membership with at least one credit reporting service, so you can go in at any time you want, night or day, and look at the latest records on your credit report. This way you can observe if any foul-play is going on.
.

Sure, you can roll the dice and take your chances. Similar to driving without insurance, as long as your number doesn't come up, your fine, but why take the chances.
Many books I've seen had story after story before they got to the first step of what to do. Maybe they needed the fluff to fill up a book or they wanted to have some sort of testimonial in their book, but all I wanted to know was "What Do I Do First, I'm in Panic Mode here?", not read about others peoples experiences, I was having my own experience at the moment!
Remember the saying, "Give someone a fish, and you feed them a meal. Teach them to fish, and you feed them a lifetime." That's what I want you to do, learn how to help protect your good credit for a lifetime. Even if you don't have good credit right now, you can get there, by not letting errors, or fraud remain on your credit report.
Big leaks come from small leaks, fix the small leaks in your credit report now before they turn into big leaks on your credit history.
I know the pain of not knowing what to do, very little teaching of self-protection for continued peace of mind. I saw books with fluff, and know the importance of quick, stop the bleeding, end the confusion of what to do first.
I knew the value of a quick reference guide for the fastest way to relief when your head is spinning, and I knew others could use what I'd learned.
When Will You Become A Victim Of Identity Theft?
Remember the question, "What does a thief look like?", he could look like anyone, someone down on their luck that used to be an upstanding citizen, so to answer "When will you become a victim?" it could be anytime, right?
So why put it off another day to get armed ahead of time, and if you've already become a victim, then you know the urgency of needing an action list of what to do now, then why not get this in your hands right now
