| Woman Gets 12 Years In ID Theft Case A Phoenix woman was sentenced to 12 years in prison Wednesday after she pleaded guilty to aggravated identity theft. Shelly Draper, 44, was arrested on June 6, 2007, after Phoenix police found several items that they believe indicated she was involved in identity theft. Police initially arrived at Draper's hotel to arrest her on an outstanding warrant for possession of dangerous drugs for sale. When officers entered Drapers' hotel room, they found several items linking her to identity theft, investigators said. The items found in Draper's room consisted of an active police scanner, several passports, three computers, two Arizona driver's licenses, multiple cell phones, stacks of check books, stacks of mail, a printer, and photo copies of other Arizona identification cards, according to a Phoenix police probable cause statement . |

| State Busts Sex Offender in Carson City on Identity Theft Allegations The latest person arrested using the Department of Motor Vehicle's digital face recognition technology is a convicted sex offender trying to register using his dead brother's identity, the DMV announced Wednesday.
Timothy Dean Johnson, 41, of Dayton was arrested Tuesday at the DMV office in Carson City on a charge of identity theft, possession of a fraudulent document, possession of a birth certificate of another and false application for a driver's license or identification card, the DMV said. All are felonies and bail was set at $40,000.
The DMV said it had an existing photograph of Johnson and its computers compared that to one Johnson submitted with an application under the name of his deceased brother, spokesman Tom Jacobs said. |

Man Arrested for Identity Theft Purchasing Sex Subscriptions Police say they have arrested a 20-year-old man for using a stolen debit card to purchase poronographic website subscriptions on the internet. On Nov. 11, 2008, the Milton Police Department was contacted by a victim of an identity theft. Police learned that the victim's debit card was used to purchase pornographic website subscriptions on the internet, without the victim's knowledge. Authorities say they an investigation and arrested James M. Tilger , 20, of Millsboro, Del. on Thursday for identity theft, three counts of theft and three counts of unlawful use of a credit card. Tilger was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2, released on $6,000 unsecured bond and placed on pre-trial supervision. Case pending in court at a later date.
